He later married Stacia Toten in 1987, and the couple welcomed a son, Steven R. McQueen, who followed in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in acting. Steven gained fame with roles in The Vampire Diaries and Chicago Fire. The couple parted ways in 1990.

In 1993, McQueen married Jeanie Galbraith, with whom he shared two children: Chase McQueen and Madison McQueen.

Throughout his life, family remained central to Chad’s identity, especially after the tragic loss of his sister Terry in 1998. Jeanie and their two children, Chase and Madison, were a constant source of support during the final years of his life.

A close family friend, Arthur Barens, revealed that McQueen’s cause of death was organ failure, a condition that had worsened following a fall in 2020. The injury had left him in fragile health, and despite efforts to recover, he never regained full strength.
